According to Cigars International, it has recorded a total of $7.8 million in black market sales over the past six months.
“In the last 24 hours, we have recorded a record $7K sale on our brand new cigars in the United States,” the company said in a statement on Monday.
“These cigars have all been sold at the most unusual, extreme and unauthorized places, and some of these are considered illicit.
The average price of these cigars is approximately $10 each.”
The company said that over the last six months, it had recorded more than 2,200 black market purchases of its premium cigars and cigars from the Middle East and Africa.
Cigars World said that it had also been reporting black market transactions for the last three months.
As part of the black markets report, CigarsWorld said that the total value of black market tobacco transactions was $1.8 billion.
“This represents the highest number of black markets transactions ever recorded by CigarsInternational and we expect it to continue to grow,” the report said.
