Best cigars are the hottest new trend in the world, and premium cigars, which usually come in a variety of sizes and prices, are now more common than ever.
While premium cigars were a niche market for cigar retailers and retailers themselves until the mid-2000s, the demand has exploded in recent years.
Premium cigars have become the new go-to cigar for people looking for something that has been deemed to be premium, which has helped them land top billing at luxury cigar bars.
“I would say a lot of the premium cigar brands are now becoming more of a household name in the industry,” said Josh LeBrun, president of Cigar Insider, an online cigar company.
“They’ve gotten a lot more attention, and I think that’s going to continue.”
Cigar Insider launched in January with the goal of getting premium cigars on the internet.
Now, they offer a comprehensive selection of premium cigars at prices starting at $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000.
CigarInsider has a list of premium brands that are available for purchase on their website.
LeBrun said that he and his company have had an influx of customers in recent months.
“We’ve seen a lot, in fact, that we didn’t even think we’d see in the first quarter of 2018, and we’re now seeing the volume of new customers,” he said.
“So I think it’s very healthy.”
According to CigarNews.com, the average cigar smoker spends $7,000 on a cigar, and that figure rises to an average of $9,000 for smokers who smoke at least 10 cigars per day.
LeBruns business model is to get people to spend more on premium cigars.
“You don’t have to be a millionaire to buy a premium cigar,” LeBrunner said.
“If you can’t afford to spend $3,000, you don’t need to smoke cigars.
It’s a lot less of a risk,” he added.
“And so, people are buying more of premium cigar.”
LeBruns company sells its products at its stores in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.
LeBs cigar selection is available in different flavors such as Black and White, which is considered to be the premium flavor, or Toro Red, which LeBrunners describes as the “chewy” flavor.
The company also sells the “premium” cigar samplers.
“It’s kind of a niche that’s kind and premium, and then you also have the premium cigars that are on special offer at our premium stores,” LeBs CEO, Scott Osterberg, said.
Osterberg said that premium cigars have been a growing trend for several years now.
“When we launched our company in 2015, it was just a niche thing,” he explained.
“I think it has grown and grown to a very big thing.”
“I think we have a great customer base,” Osterbockers said.
In 2016, the company had 5,000 customers.
By 2019, it had more than 20,000 users.
LeBs cigar inventory is also available through its online store, which sells more than 100 different cigars a day.
A majority of LeBucks customers purchase their cigars from the store, as it’s not difficult to find a good quality cigar.
“Our goal is to sell a great product and make a great return,” LeBreun said.
When asked if the company has any plans to expand, LeBuns CEO said he does not.
“The goal of Cigaliant is to keep our customers happy,” he noted.
“But, we can’t expand.”
